In Partnership with the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) the Town of Fountain Hills is once again supporting the ongoing county wide effort to enlighten, educate and end domestic violence. Beginning on Monday, October 1, 2018 and continuing through entire month of October, the dome of the Town Hall municipal building will be illuminated with a purple glow in support of the Regional Plan to end domestic violence.
The Town supports MAG’s Regional Domestic Violence initiative which develops and implements strategies to reduce the incidence of and trauma associated with domestic violence, including the Regional Plan to End Domestic Violence. Areas of focus include working with survivors, law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim advocates to enhance the way the region arrests and prosecutes domestic violence offenders.
In addition to the lighting, Mayor Kavanagh will read a proclamation at the October 2, 2018 Town Council meeting declaring October Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the Town of Fountain Hills. All citizens are encouraged to attend the meeting in support of this initiative.
