The Town of Fountain Hills extends its heartfelt thanks to the Fountain Hills Elks Lodge #2846 for identifying a community need and stepping up with a solution.
For years, the concession stand at Golden Eagle Park sat closed during tournaments, missing an opportunity to serve the community. Recognizing this, the Elks offered to take over the operation and maintenance of the stand, and the impact has been remarkable.
The concession stand is now leased and operated by the Elks during Little League games and tournaments. It has become more than just a place to grab a snack, as it’s a pipeline of support for local youth. The vast majority of proceeds are funneled directly into youth programs and initiatives through the Fountain Hills Elks Youth Project, which can be accessed at www.fhelksyouthproject.org.
“The Elks have stepped up to the plate and not only helped us in running the concession stand but are doing so in order to better our community,” said Community Services Director Kevin Snipes. “They have done a fantastic job, and we have received many compliments from our promotors.”
As of May 2025, the Elks have contributed more than 1,200 volunteer hours, resulting in more than $22,000 revenue available for the youth project . Those dollars go right back into the community, helping to support youth sports, education, and development programs.
“We are proud to help the kids and families in our community,” said William Pageau, Elks Exalted Ruler. “We hope the redistribution of funds collected creates amazing opportunities for them going forward.”
With the summer heat in full swing, the concession stand is temporarily closed, but it will be back in action when games resume in September.
Thanks to the commitment and generosity of the Fountain Hills Elks Lodge, a once-quiet concession stand is now a driving force for good in the community.
