Well, you don't see this every day.
On Wednesday, April 30th, around 3am, the Fountain Hills Fire Department responded to a 911 call of a childbirth taking place in the parking lot of the Town Hall Complex. Crews quickly arrived on scene and found a man and woman with a newborn baby girl inside a parked vehicle. The fire crew ensured mom and baby were stabilized and in good health, and once an AMR ambulance arrived on scene, assisted in the transport of the mother to a local hospital for further care. The individuals were all in good spirits.
It appears that during labor the couple was trying to get to an emergency room, but realized they were not going to make it in time and sought more immediate help, ending up at Town Hall where the MCSO substation is located and calling 911.
The Town wishes the family well. Check out the video below and hear from a member of the fire crew that responded.
