[ARCHIVED] Request for Community Services Advisory Commission Applicants

Three (3) openings are available for Commissioners to serve on the Community Services Advisory Commission.  Applicants must be Fountain Hills’ residents, for a minimum of one year, and be able to attend monthly meetings on the fourth Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m.  Three Commissioners will be appointed by the Town Council and will serve on a volunteer basis for a term beginning January 1, 2018 and ending December 31, 2020.

Applications are also being accepted for one (1) Youth Commissioner for the Community Services Advisory Commission.  The appointee shall be the youth representation, who shall be a Town resident for at least one year, shall be a resident high school student, be a member of the Mayor’s Youth Council, and service a one-year term of the Commission beginning with the start of the school year.

The role of the Commission is to advise the Mayor, Town Council, and the Director of Community Services in matters pertaining to the Community Services Department.  Commissioners spend an average of 5 to 12 hours per month attending Commission meetings, reading packet materials, working on subcommittees, and volunteering on various department projects.  Essential skills/knowledge in one or more of the following fields preferred: event planning, recreation programs, park maintenance, senior programming and tourism.

Application forms are available at the Town Hall reception desk, 16705 E. Avenue of the Fountains, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268, or on the Town’s web site at www.fh.az.gov/CSAC.

The completed application packet should consist of (1) cover letter of interest; (2) a résumé; (3) completed Background & Personal Data Outline (located on website); (4) completed supplemental questionnaire (located on website), and (5) signed Consent to Executive Session (located on website).

Applications are being accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.  Applications may be sent or hand delivered to the Town Hall reception desk, Attention: Jennifer Lyons, 16705 E. Avenue of the Fountains, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268.  The envelope should be clearly marked “Community Services Advisory Commission Application”.
