Republic Services recently detected an error in its billing system in March of 2023 for some residents. The town and Republic Services have a contractual agreement for an annual price increase of 3.5% which is implemented every January. This increase however, was not implemented during the first 2 months of 2023. We have corrected this billing error and as a result, residents will see an additional cost associated with this change on their invoice for past and future billing. In January and February of 2023, the approximate change is .50c for each month for customers who receive weekly service and, .68c per month for customers who receive bi-weekly service and will reflect as such for the remainder of the year.
