[ARCHIVED] Temporary Suspension of Recycling Services

Republic Services has informed the Town that the recycling facility the company uses at the Salt River Pima landfill burned down last night.  A lithium ion battery set off a fire, which coupled with 60 MPH winds, destroyed the facility.  In light of the emergency situation, Republic Services will be suspending recycling temporarily until the company can find another recycling facility alternative. This may involve utilizing other facilities managed by municipalities in the East Valley.

During this time of service disruption, Republic Services customers will be able to place their recycling bin out for the second pickup each week, where the materials will be taken to the landfill instead of a recycling facility.  We thank you for your patience during this time of service disruption and both the Town of Fountain Hills and Republic Services will work diligently to keep citizens updated on this situation.
