[ARCHIVED] 28th Annual Turkey Trot Route and Road Closures

28th Annual Turkey Trot: Come trot with the Town of Fountain Hills Community Services on Thanksgiving morning! Come out and be a wild turkey with us on Thursday, November 22rd as we trot through the streets of Fountain Hills. Grab your friends and family and join us Thanksgiving morning for our annual 5K or 1 Mile Fitness Walk. Registration is now open at www.FHTurkeyTrot.com, or register in person at Town Hall or the Community Center. Registration fees are $25 per runner, $15 per runner 12 and under, and $15 per walker. After November 15 at 6:00 pm, fees go up to $35 per runner, $20 per runner 12 and under, and $20 per walker.

Once registered, mark your calendar for Wednesday, November 21st as the Town will host packet pickup in the lobby of the Community Center (13001 La Montana Dr. Fountain Hills, AZ 85268) from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. This is the perfect time to get your shirt, runners bib, and other race info. Grabbing your items early is recommended so you are set and ready to roll on Turkey Trot morning. If you can’t join us for packet pick up, plan to grab your bib and shirt on race morning, between 5:15 a.m. – 6:30 a.m.

The 5K and 1 Mile Fitness Walk will begin promptly at 7:15 am. We encourage all walkers, and those planning on a slower pace, to line up at the back of the pack to allow faster runners through the course. We welcome strollers and baby joggers for the event, however please leave your pets at home. Our new route for the race will start and end on the northeast side of La Montana Drive and the Avenue of the Fountains. This year, the route will take the runners from the Avenue of the Fountains to Saguaro Boulevard to El Lago Boulevard to Panorama, with the beautiful backdrop of Fountain Park and the Fountain.

Parking will be available at the Library and Community Center parking lots; this lot will close promptly at 7:10 am in preparation for the start of the event. Access to the lot will be available from El Lago Boulevard onlyAdditional parking will be available on surrounding surface streets including Parkview Avenue, Verde River Drive, and Gunsight Drive. Following the race, exiting from the lot will be intermittent until all runners clear the course. We ask all participants to please be patient.
