Spring is around the corner and it is time to gather up old furniture and other large items to dispose of through annual bulk waste collection.
The 2025 Residential Bulk Waste Collection schedule is now available! This service, provided by Republic Services, allows residents to dispose of large household items that cannot fit in their regular waste bins.
Fountain Hills residents are divided into nine zones, which each zone assigned one collection date. **PLEASE NOTE: BULK PICKUP IS ONLY A SINGLE DAY PER ZONE IN 2025**
Collection begins March 5th and runs through the end of April.
Important Collection Guidelines:
Accepted Bulk Waste Items:
- Furniture and some appliances (Freon® must be removed)
- Branches (must be no more than 4 feet in length, no larger than 24 inches in diameter, and bundled with twine or wire)
Unaccepted Items:
- Household hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, oil)
- Loose yard waste (grass, leaves, weeds)
- Construction materials exceeding 25 lbs. or longer than 4 feet
- Bricks, concrete, rocks, tile, roofing materials
- Metal, rebar, fence posts, automobile parts, and tires
- Untaped glass (windows, mirrors, shower doors)
Bulk Collection Rules:
- Set out your bulk waste no earlier than the weekend before your scheduled date and no later than 6 a.m. on collection day.
- Items must be stacked, bagged, boxed, or tied neatly and placed at least 5 feet away from fixed objects (utility poles, mailboxes, water meters, parked cars, etc.).
- Do not exceed 6 cubic yards (about the size of a small pickup truck load).
