If you are planning to deep fry the bird this Thanksgiving, we want to make sure you keep the fire in the fryer, and not your home.

How
to fry a turkey safely:
Thaw completely! No ice or frost—it reacts explosively with hot oil.
Keep it dry. Pat your turkey with paper towels before frying.
Stay outdoors. Use the fryer on a flat, non-flammable surface, far from buildings.
Monitor oil levels. Overfilled fryers can lead to dangerous spills.
Never leave it unattended. Keep a fire extinguisher handy, just in case.
