[ARCHIVED] RPTA Appointment

Fountain Hills is proud to announce that 2nd term Councilman Cecil Yates has been appointed to the Valley Metro RPTA Board of Directors.  Valley Metro is the regional public transportation agency providing coordinated transit services to residents of metro Phoenix. From regional bus, light rail, and paratransit service to alternative commuter solutions, Valley Metro’s core mission is to develop and operate a network of transit services.

Yates, an award winning developer, has vast experience with construction and development, property management, and economic development.  He presently manages over 11 Million square feet of commercial real estate where many of his buildings are serviced by Valley Metro transportation services.  His experience also carries over into the public sector.  He continues to serve on the Greater Phoenix Economic Council and Maricopa Association of Governments – Domestic Violence Board of Directors.

“Cecil was a perfect match for this opportunity between Valley Metro and Fountain Hills.  Yates has worked with Valley Metro to try and find a way to increase transportation lines within the town to help both residents and businesses with their transportation needs,” said Mayor Linda Kavanagh

“This is a great opportunity for Fountain Hills to have a seat at the table with Valley Metro”, Yates cheered. “I will work diligently to find a way for Fountain Hills to be better served by mass transit.  This can create several connectivity opportunities for local businesses and our residents”.

Yates has two undergraduate degrees from the University of Cincinnati in Marketing & Management, as well as an MBA in Strategic Management from Patten University in Oakland California.  He is also Six Sigma Certified.  Yates received the Award of Merit by the Association of Builders and Contractors for his project; Chester Road Square and was named in the 2017 edition of “People and Projects to Know” by Arizona Real Estate Magazine.

“As greater Phoenix continues to grow, it will be exciting to participate in the strategic decision making of Valley Metro” Yates said.  “There will be technological opportunities for the mass transit provider, which will hopefully create some additional opportunities for Fountain Hills.”
