Fountain Hills Community: We are proud that we are a Pet Friendly Community! We love our four-legged friends, and many Town staff have dogs at home. Keeping them safe has been, and continues to be, at the forefront of our efforts.
We want to provide additional information and answers to your questions about the Town's new partnership with ACES.
The Town has **always** had contracted services for pet-related matters. This has been done through Maricopa County Animal Control,
but when assessing contract concerns, it became much more beneficial, and cost efficient, to use ACES instead.
ACES meets the needs of our community and are a willing partner who also wants the best for both our pets and the public. ACES already has worked with the Town for more than a decade in a limited role, so they are a known entity and understand that Fountain Hills is a town that proactively supports the health and welfare of our pets.
In this new partnership, education and promoting responsible pet ownership is a priority, and enforcement is reserved only for instances that warrant it, which is the same as it was with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.
When it comes to lost, or 'stray' dogs, every attempt will be made to quickly reunite a pet with its rightful owner, if chipped or wearing a collar. We also encourage you to still utilize the great resources we have in our community, such as Rescue Pals, Pal's Inn Pet Resort, and Fearless Kitty Rescue.
We appreciate the passion! The goal is to have a fun and pet friendly community that is safe for everyone, while prioritizing the care and respect for our animals.
