Council Member Brenda Kalivianakis will be appointed the next vice mayor at the Town Council Meeting on Tuesday, March 5. Brenda will replace Council Member Sharron Grzybowski as Vice Mayor, appointed on Aug 22, 2023. Vice mayor positions are on an eight-month rotation.
Councilmember Kalivianakis has been on the Town Council since December 2022. Before retiring to Fountain Hills, Kalivianakis was a former prosecutor in Illinois' Assistant State's Attorney's office. After leaving the State's Attorney's office, she opened her practice specializing in criminal defense. After leaving the legal profession, she founded and owned a successful marketing company in the Chicago suburbs.
Brenda currently serves in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary (USCG Aux) as a divisional staff officer and secretary of records. She's a distinguished USCG Aux Color Guard member and plays saxophone in the USCG Aux Arizona Band.
Other important committees Brenda serves on representing the Town include the Maricopa County Association of Governments (MAG) Public Safety, Military Affairs, Courts Committee, and the Town's Pedestrian and Streets Committee, and she is a member of Fountain Hills Cares.
